Big News: Endings, Beginnings and Transitions

Over the last few years Samantha and I have spent time discussing our future life and ministry. InnerCHANGE asks its staff to take a sabbatical every seventh year for spiritual rest and renewal.  Our sabbatical will begin in mid-2011 and last for six months.

After sabbatical, our current plan is for our family to move to the United States so that Sam can pursue further studies to become a nurse practitioner.  The study will begin in early 2012. We expect this study to take roughly 3 years.

During this time we will also plan to begin a ministry exploration with InnerCHANGE to consider starting a new team in an inner city US location. Currently we have a strong attraction to Philadelphia, though we are open to any possibilities. This will be an exploration at two levels: 1. "is this a long-term site for InnerCHANGE to have a team?" and, 2. "is this where God may have our family placed for the long-term or should we move back to Cambodia or somewhere entirely different?" This exploration will continue the work we believe we have been called to by God among those facing poverty in San Francisco, Melbourne, Phnom Penh and Kampot.  Obviously, this is a big move for our family (three quarters of whom have never lived in the US before!) and we would appreciate your prayers.  If you have a word from the Lord for us during this time, we'd appreciate hearing from you.  Thanks for journeying with us on this crazy adventure!

This means we will be leaving Cambodia in June 2011, and move to the US. This leaves us with roughly 10 months left in Cambodia. We hope and pray that you will continue to follow our journey in InnerCHANGE seeking viable transformations in addressing poverty and violence in all its forms.
